Did you know what is best for your little one?

The Ministry of Health Malaysia and the World Health Organization (WHO) have recommended exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate introduction of complementary food up to 2 years of age or beyond. Breastfeeding should be initiated immediately after birth or within one hour of delivery.  Breast milk and especially colostrum is rich in antibodies and live cells that protect infants from bacteria and viral pathogens. Breastfeeding is universally accepted as the best method of feeding babies with scientific evidences and data supporting the supremacy of breastmilk and health benefits derived from it. It contains a balance of nutrients, antibodies and bioactive components that ensures optimal growth and development including immune system and gastrointestinal microbiota. It associated with short and long term positive health effects.
