Social skills are a critical element to helping children succeed socially, emotionally, personally, and even academically. A child’s experiences in their earliest years affect how their minds work, the way they respond and their ability to form trust. Here are some suggestions.

1. Make bentos at home!

Ask your little one to choose the food she likes and start decorating together. This is to stimulate his appetite and keep him active, while at the same time persuades him to eat healthier food!

Missing your home town? No worries! Your grandma and grandpa are just a video call away! Encourage your little ones to keep in touch with your distant relatives to maintain a strong bond.

9. Let’s read & chat!

Before going to bed, read a storybook and let your little one ask questions. When they start to question, it means that they understand and can imagine various scenarios! Chatting is their way of socializing. When your little one is happy, we are sure you will be too!

10. Movie Time!

Set a day to watch a chosen film together in turn. After that, ask your Little One what they remember the most in the movie, so they will get used to listening and focusing while watching.

11. Time for afternoon tea!

15. Karaoke-lah!

Singing while learning is a proactive way to teach your little one. This will make it easier for them to remember and understand, and teach them to be more confident while in the process of growing up happy!

16. Let’s take pictures!

Your little ones will definitely have fun with this! Find some time to bring your little ones to the recreational park or anywhere with interesting sceneries and hand them a camera to test their natural eye for photography. Finally, get your little ones to tell their story behind the pictures they have taken.

17. Let’s have a music marathon!

Instead of just watching TV, let’s set up the speakers and let dad and mom share their music preferences. The family can dance together and have great time. Your little ones will also be able to explore and familiarise with different music genres! It will be great to see their reaction and see what kind of music they like too!

18. Let’s Get To Know Our Family!

Mum and dad can start with printing out some family photos. Then ask your little ones to place the photos in an empty photo album. As your little ones go along, teach them to recognise each and every family member. A little story behind the pictures will help your little ones get to know the family tree better!

19. Learn to be Multilingual!

Your little ones young brain absorbs knowledge like a big sponge! So this is a good time to start picking up a few languages! We can always go on Youtube and try out some free tutorials!

20. Hand Print Art!

Let’s do hand print art with your little ones! Use water colour or paint that is easily removable and safe for your skin! Lightly dab the palms of your hands in some pain and paste it on a paper and make it into a memorabilia. Mum and dad would like this activity a lot too!

21. Let’s Play with Bubbles!

Pick a roomy space in or around the house, mums can prepare the bubble soap and dads can teach your little ones to blow into the bubble wands to make big bubbles! It is an easy activity for the family to enjoy together!

22. OOTD Time!

Your little ones can be fashionable! Let your little ones choose their own outfits for a fashion show at home! Mums and dads can join too!

23. Dress like your favourite hero!

Your little ones must have a cartoon character or a hero that they like! So let’s plan a day for the whole family to cosplay! It will be a great activity for your little ones to find creative ways to DIY their favourite hero costumes!
